HX3 3,4 will not connect to remote editor

Connected the HX3 3,4 to the remote editor with USB cable..and it doesn´t find the unit. When I click on "device"...I get the message:

"No FTDI cable or HX3 USB extension found"

When I plug/unplug the USB-cable, the laptop makes a little "sound", which seems that it detects the HX3 but doesn´t "find it".

What to do?

I downloaded the latest firmware (4.26) zip package for 3.4 and opened the editor from there.

I have used the editor on the same laptop before without any problems...but maybe an earlier version of the editor?

My HX3 has firmware 4.20 atm.

What could be the problem here?

For some clients had in past times some problems with FTDI cable
