USING 25key WERSI PEDAL for BASS 25 Board

If wanted to use 25key Wersi Pedals for Hoax Bass25 board first there is to notice
that there exsist different types of those pedals
1) old 25 key pedal from analog W Series like Wersi Helios with implemented REED Contacts
2) same Helios pedal with SPRING CONTACTS
3) old 25 key pedal from digital Series DX 500 ( DELTA, GAMMA ) or CD LINE ( Spectra, Gala etc ) also SPRING Contacts

Each Pedal has their own MATRIX for using at Wersi organs
For using this pedals for HX3 organs first the complete wiring had to be unsoldered
The contact boards remain mounted !!!!

For a Hoax Bass25 board all key contacts must be connected with ONE PIN together to a terminal GND
The other contact pins of each key are connected to the terminals of numbered key contacts 1 - 25 on Bass 25 board.

The mechanics and key contact in a Helios Pedal looks like following

The magnet is mounted with plastic cable fitting direct on key
On component side there are the REED contacts

SPRING CONTACTS

On component side there is the opposite contact ( 2 mm silver contact wire ) for the spring contacts mounted
on solder terminals
The contact spring itself is is guided in a metal fitting for wires direct to pedal key
The graphic shows the two key positions


The Helios pedal has for the Contacts several " chambers " for key contacts
These "chambers" are connected together in 3 chapters each one for 1 octave
The third chapter is only the highest key
So first all chapters must be connected togehter to realize the terminal GND

The Helios - pedal - Matrix is follwowing ( only for better understanding )
All same named keys are connected together : all C´s ; all C#´s ; all D´s etc
You find 3 selectors : 1st octave ; 2nd octave ; 3rd octave ( only one key )

Connection to BASS 25 board

The best way to make a connection to BASS 25 board is using a PC " parallel printer cable" with 25 SUB D plug .
This cable has 26 wires ! the 26th connection is the SHIELD and practicable used for GND connection.
Shield is directly soldered at metal case of 25 SUB D plug so the SUB D plug must be mounted at HX 3 side ISOLATED !
If You take a 2,5 m printercable cut the CENTRONICS PLug and separate the 26 wires on a length of contact side of the pedal

Using a DX / CD LIne 25key pedal is little difficult because it contains special matrix connected to DATABUS in DX and CD line Organ

The CD - LIne Matrix is following ( only for better understanding ):
C low - F run on SELECTOR 0 ( DATA BUS D2 to D7 )
F# - C# run to SELECTOR 1 ( complete DATA BUS D0 to D7 )
D - A run to SELECTOR 2 ( DATA BUS D6 to D7 and D0 to D5 )
A# - C high run to SELECTOR 3 ( DATA BUS D6 to D7 and D0 )

So it is necessary to separate ALL SPRING Contact solder pins !!

All former SELECTOR Pins must be connected together to realize the Terminal GND

DX and CD LIne Pedals only contain two long contact boards connected with little solderjumpers together.
The SELECTOR terminals are named on solder side of boards : " SEL 0 - 3 ". The terminals "PE 0 - PE 7" are the old terminals of Databus

The connection with a PC parallel printer cable then is same as at Helios pedal
Once again :
keep the pedal contact board mounted. It´s more than tricky to guide the spring contacts into the pedal key holes
