HX-3 Module - Send cc4 to control Expression/Volume

I am a new owner of the HX-3 module and am having issues with a couple of things, using my Nord C1 as a controller.

I have made a custom Midi CC map that is working well except for controlling the volume of the HX-3 via midi.

I need to do this so I can write the midi data into my band's sequence and re-connect via midi to record my organ through a speaker set-up in the studio at a later date.

I realize there is a swell pedal input on the HX-3, but that will not write my swell pedal movements for later playback.

Please advise...... session tomorrow!!

Thanks, Nordym

Hi Nordym,

If you use your swell pedal through the Nord's expression pedal input, does it not control the HX3? If you use the expression pedal through the Nord instead of through the HX3 directly, it will then send Midi data to your sequencer.

Hope this helps.

Luis.

Thanks Luis,

No, the swell pedal running through the Nord does NOT control the HX-3 volume. I think in order for this to work, I would need to change the cc4 to cc11 via an external box for this to work.

Anyone else care to chime in..... Carsten?

Thanks

nordym got a firmware from me which accepts #4 Foot Controller messages. If it works, it will be implemented in upcoming firmwares. This one accepts #11 and #4 simultaneously, so problems may occur if a MIDI controller sends both with different values. Never seen that, though.
